A Growing Network of Care and Convenience

The Village of Pinecrest became the latest municipality to enjoy the benefits of a Nicklaus Children’s Hospital outpatient facility in 2017. The year marked the opening of the Nicklaus Children’s Pinecrest Urgent Care and a new Sports Health Center, both situated in Pinecrest’s Suniland Shopping Center along high-profile U.S. 1 (South Dixie Highway).

The Pinecrest offerings brought to 13 the total number of outpatient centers extending from southern Miami Dade to Palm Beach, with new centers also coming online in Hialeah and Homestead in 2018.

“We are so proud of our family of centers,” said Nancy Humbert, Executive Vice President of Ambulatory Services and External Affiliations. “These child- and family-friendly centers are truly the embodiment of our commitment to ‘be where the children are’ in South Florida. Together, we are truly making a difference for families seeking world-class care, combined with convenient access."

Nicklaus outpatient center offerings include urgent care, diagnostic services, pediatric subspecialty appointments, rehabilitation services and more.

The Pinecrest Urgent Care Center joins a network of urgent care centers in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. All are open seven days a week until 10 p.m., offering treatment for minor pediatric injury and illnesses, and serve infants, children, teens and young adults up to age 21.

The 2,200-square-foot Sports Health Center is dedicated to young athletes from dancers to competitive sports athletes with the aim of reducing the risk of injury and improving performance. The center offers innovative programs and services that encompass a multidisciplinary approach that includes orthopedic and sports medicine specialists, sports physical therapists and licensed athletic trainers. Nutrition services and specialty physician consultation services will become available soon.
