October 2022: CICU Team
<p>Dear Healthcare Workers, thank you all for your kindness, support, guidance, and professionalism. Nicklaus Children's Hospital, the CICU team, has created a strong community for Maya and our family. Our baby Maya came into this world as a fighter, overcoming overwhelming challenges. Your team has been right here fighting alongside her and has helped strengthen our faith throughout this process. We know we have a long road ahead, and our family is grateful to the CICU team. Our family has been at the hospital alongside Maya for 42 days. Although we were hopeful that we would take her home with us this week to be alongside her older sister, Leila, and grandparents, we understand we cannot rush Maya's process. The CICU team has been extraordinary. We feel confident that the staff members we have come to know, as an extension of our community, will continue to provide exceptional care to our baby girl Maya. The Edmond family addresses the following teams who cared for baby Maya and our family at the: Nicklaus Children's Hospital: The CICU Team, Cardiac Surgeon, Anesthesiologist, Clinical Child Specialist, Physicians, Intensivist Fellow, Nurse Practitioner, Case Manager, Social Worker, Psychiatrist, Charge Nurses, Bed Side Nurses, Lactation Specialists, Care Assistant, Respiratory Therapists, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Environmental Services, Laundry Staff, Front Desk personnel, and Kitchen/Dietary Staff members. Please accept our sincerest apologies if we have missed anyone or additional teams that have contributed to Maya’s recovery. We appreciate all your knowledge, humor, and positive attitude while working diligently toward Maya's successful recovery home to us. Many blessings to everyone who has had an encounter with our family, but most importantly to our baby girl Maya, and the care you have and continue to provide. We express our sincerest gratitude.
